Dom-Römer-Quarter, Frankfurt am Main

The name Dom-Römer-Viertel or Dom-Römer-Quartier refers to the centre of Frankfurt's historic old town. The so-called New Frankfurt Old Town was reconstructed between 2012 and 2018 as part of a major urban development project.

MODERSOHN was involved in several buildings of the entire ensemble, such as the house "Zu den Römern" on the north side of the Krönungsweg and the houses "Eichhorn" and "Goldene Schere" on the Hühnermarkt. In the area of new buildings, MODERSOHN Stainless steel supplied material for the house "Goldenes Kreuz" on the south side of Neugasse, for the house "Großer Rebstock" on the north side of Krönungsweg and for the buildings in Braubachstraße 27 and 29 ("Glauburger Hof"). MODERSOHN was also involved to a lesser extent in the "Goldene Waage" on the south side of Krönungsweg.

Among other things, angle bracket anchors and prefabricated fasteners for the facade fastening as well as horizontal bracing and scaffolding anchors were supplied for the reconstruction of the historical building fabric or for the so-called "creative new buildings". Often, these were special constructions that were precisely adapted to the special structural situations, such as the special brackets for the archways and the spolia friezes on the "Großer Rebstock" house.
