Windposts

Windposts are profile constructions as a substructure for holding the facing layer, if the load-bearing base can only be fixed laterally at floor level. In this case, the infill, i.e. the wall elements between the concrete pillars and concrete ceilings, are often made of lightweight material in which no load-bearing fastening can be installed. Such windposts are usually mounted to the ceiling level with wall spacer profiles, so that the vertical mounting rails consisting of rectangular tubes or U-profiles are arranged in the air layer in front of the thermal insulation and can accommodate the wall connection anchors there.

The wall connection anchors can then either be suspended in slotted holes or, even better, in a C-profile channel, so that the bricklayer can insert the end of the anchor exactly into the appropriate horizontal joint when the facing layer is built up.
