Stainless steel housing

Stainless steel housings as claddings on industrial machines and plants are very often produced by MODERSOHN. In addition to the standard materials 1.4301 (1.4307 A2L) and 1.4404 (A4L) as well as 1.4571 (A5), Modersohn also supplies duplex steels (also stainless Lean Duplex steel), 1.4062, 1.4162, 1.4362, 1.4482, 1.4462, 1.4662 and Superduplex for the highest demands in corrosion resistance.
The welding edges are ground cleanly smooth and the complete housings are perfectly finished all around with body grinding machines, so that such a housing looks as if it was made of one piece. If an abrasive and fleece look is too expensive, there is also the possibility of evenly blasting small and large housings with finest abrasive glass beads in 3 glass bead blasting rooms.

Glass bead blasting is (like most non-metallic blasting materials) by far the gentlest and most corrosion-technical method, as the blasting material is completely cleaned of ferritic residues by magnetic separators before reuse.

This is a big problem especially when blasting with stainless steel grains, as here the formation of martensite in the grains makes cleaning impossible (permeability) and time and again especially scale particles from weld seam areas or thermal cutting processes are also blasted onto the workpieces.
MODERSOHN has a lot of experience in the manufacture of housings and can provide quick and precise assistance not only in the attachment of covers, hinges and seals, but also in the development and correct selection of materials and surfaces.
