The shear bolt anchorages are round steels with a round or hexagonal head formed on one side. They are most frequently welded onto anchor plates and anchor channels in the building industry. The shear bolt anchors are cast into the concrete and serve as a load-bearing element for the above-mentioned connection fixings for building components such as supports, railings, facades, etc. In Germany, a building authority approval is required for load-bearing structures for shear connectors. In addition, many edge protection constructions for concrete edges with shear connectors are also in use.
MODERSOHN processes shear connectors with the drawn arc method up to a diameter of 22 mm. Shear bolt anchorages are manufactured in stainless steel as well as in mild steel (galvanised or primed). Mixed connections are also possible.
