Masonry connection

It is important that masonry walls are connected to each other in a non-positive way, e.g. when inner walls of masonry meet load-bearing outer walls, and then even very different types of masonry meet. As a rule, so-called masonry connectors with building authority approval from the DIBT are used in such butt joint areas. They are inexpensive, but must be planned or installed in the first brick wall and half of them must be visible in order to build the connecting wall. If wall connectors are missing, the brick heights of the connecting wall are not identical or special forces have to be absorbed, the problem can also be solved with dowelled rail profiles and continuously height-adjustable wall connection anchors.

MODERSOHN offers an important supplement with the MOSO® perforated tape (masonry reinforcement) for the masonry joint areas against the risk of shrinkage and settlement cracks. The term masonry connection can of course also be used to refer to the connection to other building materials, such as concrete or steel framework or beam beams. MODERSOHN also offers special solutions in this area.
