The new reception and administration building of the long-established company Dräger Medical adds a striking architectural feature to the St. Lorenz district of Lübeck. This extraordinary building impressively combines tradition with a forward-looking vision: the architects have reinterpreted North German brick expressionism, creating a façade that no longer appears as a conventional wall surface but as a sculptural, expressive brick lattice.
Directly adjoining a six-storey office block dating from the 1980s, the lower floors of the new building house the offices of around 200 staff. The upper floors, on the other hand, are reserved for senior management.
The result is a building complex that is equally functional, prestigious and architecturally distinctive – a new flagship for both the company and the neighbourhood.
Modersohn supplied single bracket anchors and Angle support brackets, as well as precast fixings and scaffolding anchors, for the entire support structure of the new building.
