As an independent representative of fastening systems from the company Lutz from Wertheim, Wilhelm Modersohn sen. had recognised early on that there was a great demand in the market for fastenings in the area of masonry facades. In March 1970, he and two employees founded the company, which today has over 140 employees.

Project description
Within the scope of the rehabilitation of the A42 federal motorway in the Duisburg-Hamborn area, MODERSOHN® manufactured for the client Straßen-NRW the deflection consoles for the Beecker Straße bridge. These were produced from austenitic steel 1.4571.
The brackets consist of base plates with hollow profiles, which were welded from single Stainless steel sheets, provided with stiffening ribs and completed by inserted tubes. In addition, round tubes were produced as counterparts, all blasted and welded. The two elements are joined together to form one part, a process which has been tested once during the final production inspection to ensure that the joint functions properly.
Special challenges
Production and welding work was carried out according to design class DIN EN 1090 EXC3 / evaluation group B, including PT penetration test.
