In 2002, Wilhelm Modersohn became aware of the SAF2304 (1.4362) material through Avesta in Sweden. In 2003 Modersohn introduced the first Lean Duplex steel for system products in the German market for fastening systems.

As an independent representative of fastening systems from the company Lutz from Wertheim, Wilhelm Modersohn sen. had recognised early on that there was a great demand in the market for fastenings in the area of masonry facades. In March 1970, he and two employees founded the company, which today has over 140 employees.

Project description
The Speicherquartier Kappeln is a modern holiday resort located directly on the Schlei, comprising four new buildings offering exclusive holiday apartments with tasteful, high-quality furnishings in the harbour of Kappeln.
The ambitious architecture and building orientation allow all 40 holiday apartments to enjoy a view of the water.
The complex also includes the 32-room Hotel “Südspeicher”, which is housed in a listed granary from the 1930s. It is located between the four new buildings and combines historical charm with modern comfort.
Modersohn manufactured and supplied the precast fixings and Angle support brackets for attaching the clinker brick façade for the new construction of all four buildings.
Material
For the consoles, material 1.4062, a stainless duplex steel with Corrosion resistance class CRC III, was used.
