Project description

The new four-storey building of the North Rhine-Westphalia Regional Finance Directorate in Münster is imposing and outstanding. The project, which cost around 51 million euros, was started in 2014 and only completed at the beginning of 2016. The contract for the design was awarded to the consortium Patriarche & Co. und Schusterarchitekten GmbH, Düsseldorf. In the end, they were able to convince with clear structures and functional allocation.

The building has a reddish clinker brick façade typical of Münster, with light grey exposed concrete strips separating the individual floors in a visually successful and functionally convincing way. Some of the clinker surfaces of the individual floors are ingeniously fanned out, thus effectively loosening up the appearance.

The calculations of the columnar elements in the window niches posed a particular challenge for the support, which was solved by our in-house engineers. For the success of this clinker brick façade with exposed concrete elements, MODERSOHN supplied, among other things, all prefabricated fastenings, also as custom-made products, suspended access anchors and various Welded constructions according to drawings.
