In 2002, Wilhelm Modersohn became aware of the SAF2304 (1.4362) material through Avesta in Sweden. In 2003 Modersohn introduced the first Lean Duplex steel for system products in the German market for fastening systems.

As an independent representative of fastening systems from the company Lutz from Wertheim, Wilhelm Modersohn sen. had recognised early on that there was a great demand in the market for fastenings in the area of masonry facades. In March 1970, he and two employees founded the company, which today has over 140 employees.

Project description
On the site of the Bonn Centre, which was demolished in March 2017, a building complex with a high-rise building and three pentagonal low-rise buildings was built from June 2019. This is located on the edge of the former government district in Bonn, on Reuterbrücke at Bundeskanzlerplatz, and was completed at the end of 2022.
The Neuer Kanzlerplatz urban quarter was one of the largest construction projects in Germany at the time and was realised by the project development company Art-Invest Real Estate and the architectural firm JSWD Architekten. With a height of 101.5 metres, it comprised a total of 28 floors with a usable area of 66,000 m2. The result is modern office solutions with new mobility concepts as well as catering and recreational facilities to breathe new life into Bonn's best address.
MODERSOHN supplied 19 customised joining structures for this major project, manufactured in a complex welding process in accordance with the client's specifications.
