Project description

The project was put out to tender in an architectural competition and implemented by the winner, the architectural firm Lederer+Ragnarsdóttir+Oei.
On 7 May 2011, the demolition of the old concrete building began. In May 2017, after six years of construction, the newly built "Historical Museum" in Frankfurt was finally completed. By the time it opened on 7 October 2017, two imposing exhibition buildings with a total length of 60 metres had been built. The façade made of red Main sandstone, which is used not only for the most important historical buildings in the city centre, namely the Römer, Paulskirche and Dom, but also for the window surrounds of all of Frankfurt's old buildings, blends harmoniously into the overall architectural picture.

MODERSOHN Stainless steel was responsible, among other things, for the design of the consoles optimised for heat transfer. MODERSOHN also supplied single and angle bracket anchors made of Stainless steel for this construction project. In addition, special Welded constructions were produced according to drawings.

Special feature:
The Fastening elements are made of Lean Duplex Stainless steel.
