Between Hamburg Bahrenfeld and Othmarschen, a new quarter has been created on the approx. 52,000 m2 site of the former L.C. Oetker marzipan factory. The former industrial site has been revitalized with great attention to detail. The existing historic factory buildings were modernized from the ground up and supplemented with modern new office buildings, which blend harmoniously into the architectural surroundings thanks to their contemporary style.
In this way, a modern and versatile neighbourhood is developing, with a building structure that opens up universal possibilities: the new office space offers room for large companies of international renown, but there is also space for small and medium-sized companies as well as for craft and commercial enterprises. Everything is possible, from smaller sub-units to complete building solutions.
The centre and meeting point is the plaza at the foot of the listed chimney of the former marzipan factory, the district's landmark. It is an inviting place for a relaxed get-together, a creative exchange of ideas or simply to take a break. In future, there are plans to further upgrade this area with various restaurants and additional options for breaks.
In addition to the three existing historical buildings, more than a dozen new buildings are being constructed to complement the existing structure and create a harmonious whole.
Modersohn has been involved in this project in the area of new buildings since 2013, supplying precast fixings, angle bracket anchors and toothed retaining anchors as well as horizontal connections and perforated tape.
