In 2002, Wilhelm Modersohn became aware of the SAF2304 (1.4362) material through Avesta in Sweden. In 2003 Modersohn introduced the first Lean Duplex steel for system products in the German market for fastening systems.

As an independent representative of fastening systems from the company Lutz from Wertheim, Wilhelm Modersohn sen. had recognised early on that there was a great demand in the market for fastenings in the area of masonry facades. In March 1970, he and two employees founded the company, which today has over 140 employees.

Project description
Completed in 2019 in the museum harbour area, the Lighthouse Hotel has a gross floor area of almost 16,000 m². In addition to the lobby with library, conference rooms and various restaurants, as well as a spa and wellness area, these are divided into 88 rooms, 20 suites and 3 apartments, which are spread across different parts of the building. This small-scale structure of the building envelope was deliberately sought during the planning stage in order to do justice to the historic ambience of Büsum harbour. This idea was realised in the form of several small harbour houses with different roof shapes and colour-graded clinker brick façades, which face the harbour and house shops and restaurants on the ground floor.
Modersohn manufactured and supplied angle bracket anchors, precast fixings and edge profiles for fastening the clinker brick façade for the new building.
Material
For the consoles, material 1.4062, a non-rusting duplex steel with Corrosion resistance class CRC III, was used.
