Bricks Hauptstraße, Berlin

Between 2014 and 2021, the former Postgewerbehof on Hauptstraße in Berlin-Schöneberg was transformed into a modern new urban neighbourhood with its very own spirit. Not only were the listed buildings carefully renovated to preserve the old splendour while still creating a contemporary working and living concept, but the empty spaces on Hauptstraße and Belziger Straße were also filled with two new buildings. Brick is also the defining element of these buildings and creates a link to the old building fabric.
In addition to shops, offices and restaurants, residential space was also created in the new ensemble, which is located in the centre of the so-called ‘Akazienkiez’ and is one of the most popular residential areas in the city.
