In 2002, Wilhelm Modersohn became aware of the SAF2304 (1.4362) material through Avesta in Sweden. In 2003 Modersohn introduced the first Lean Duplex steel for system products in the German market for fastening systems.

As an independent representative of fastening systems from the company Lutz from Wertheim, Wilhelm Modersohn sen. had recognised early on that there was a great demand in the market for fastenings in the area of masonry facades. In March 1970, he and two employees founded the company, which today has over 140 employees.

Project description
The new office building at Raiffeisenplatz 8 in St. Gallen is a new commercial building for the Raiffeisen Genossenschaft in Switzerland. Among other things, it includes a crèche on the ground floor, office space on the upper floors and meeting rooms on the attic floor.
The façade of dark clinker brick is intended to be reminiscent of the former clothiers' quarter and was built between 2010 and 2012. The planning was the responsibility of Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Renner. He created a dynamic overall image primarily through the regular arrangement of the different window openings.
The brackets, which MODERSOHN supplied as a special design for the façade fixings, were made of Stainless steel WST 1.4571 / 1.4404. They are height-adjustable via toothed slotted holes. For the intermediate elements, a tubular frame construction was welded in which bricks were laid so that the component could be moved as a finished part.
