Flowforming

With high-speed column drills we can form round holes with collars in thin sheets and thin-walled tubes. This gives such a hole an excellent stiffening, and a thread can be cut in a further processing step. Depending on the size of the hole, the collar becomes higher and is therefore usually suitable for a sufficient number of threads.

Hole sizes up to approx. Ø = 12 mm are possible. Sheet thicknesses up to max. 2.0 mm can be processed.
Manual drilling and countersinking is still of great importance for one-off productions and small series with precise holes. With several pillar drilling machines up to a hole diameter of 50 mm we can produce precise holes and countersinks.

We also have possibilities of automation, which enables us to produce large series, e.g. in flat steel, quickly and economically. When countersinking for countersunk screws, it should be noted that due to different standards and manufacturer shapes of the countersunk head, exact information on the actual shape and size is necessary in advance.

Therefore, we recommend that you also supply the screws so that you can be sure that the countersunk head fits exactly. If this is not possible, a sample or a drawn dimensional sketch will help with the fine tuning.

Advantages

Fast, inexpensive and stable: Round holes made with the flow forming process are particularly suitable for threaded holes and hole bracing in thin sheet metal. If desired, we can supply you with a small sample for inspection.
