Constructive crack safeguard

MOSO® perforated strip masonry reinforcement...
with MOSO® perforated strip masonry reinforcement type 50 E235 stainless steel or type 50 Normal galvanised normal steel.

ADVANTAGES

  • MOSO® perforated strip masonry reinforcement, a universal flat strip reinforcement that reliably reduces shrinkage, setting and notch stress cracks in façade areas
  • Wider wall walls can be protected against lateral pressure with 2 or more strips, side by side and on top of each other

USE AND APPLICATION

MOSO® perforated strip masonry reinforcement in an adhesive joint as a crack safeguard for the laying of tiles.

Crack formation in the masonry cannot be excluded especially in specific parts of masonry. They often provide a visual and functional deficiency although stability is generally not affected.

Cracks can be prevented by inserting the 5 cm wide MOSO® perforated strip into the masonry. The use of constructive reinforcement as a crack safeguard is not subject to building inspection regulations or DIN standards.

Notes on using the perforated strip can be found for some examples on this page.

The stainless steel MOSO® perforated strip type 50 E 235 should be used for outdoor and facing brickwork as well as other areas with a risk of corrosion.

DURABLE REINFORCEMENT

Large shrinkage cracks are avoided through the use of MOSO® perforated strip masonry reinforcement (right).

Critical points such as steel beam interchanges (arrows) can be permanently secured with MOSO® perforated strip masonry reinforcement (right).

MOSO® perforated strip prevents notch stress cracking when connecting different building heights (right).

A wall supported and reinforced with MOSO® perforated strip masonry reinforcement wall (right) is statically much more hardwearing against tensile and compressive stresses.

Use of the MOSO® perforated strip in the masonry of a sloping roof (right) to minimize the crack width by shrinkage or thermal stresses.
